The Renault Kangoo Maxi van lineup has been bolstered by the addition of a dual-clutch transmission, with the self-shifting diesel now available from $29,990 plus on-road costs.
Available through the company’s local dealer network, the Kangoo Maxi EDC joins the petrol-powered Kangoo EDC launched Down Under earlier this year, pairing Renault’s Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) shifter with an 81kW/240Nm 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The French automaker says the EDC delivers an "ultra-fast” shift time of 290 milliseconds, helping it hit 100km/h in 12.7 seconds.

Additionally, the new variant is offered with Renault Australia’s three year/200,000 kilometre warranty and three years of roadside assistance. The first three scheduled services are capped at $349 each.

"We’re confident the new diesel auto will be a welcome addition to the range,” said Lyndon Healey, light commercial product manager for Renault’s local division.

"Despite the increased availability of high-torque petrol turbo engines, diesel is still the first choice for many customers.”

The Renault Kangoo Maxi EDC is on sale now.
