Using a VIN decoder, someone was able to obtain juicy details about the X7 xDrive50i.
KhodroCar - Hot on the heels of BMW’s announcement about starting pre-production of the X7, a major leak now gives us the opportunity to have a good look at the luxobarge’s specs sheet. How was this possible? Someone was able to get a hold of a VIN belonging to an X7 built on November 27 and ran it through the VIN decoder accessible at the Bimmer.Work website.

The SUV in question was an Alpine White example in the xDrive50i specification and powered by a biturbo 4.4-liter V8. The engine produces 340 kilowatts as per the table attached below, so that works out to 456 horsepower delivered to both axles through an automatic transmission – likely with eight gears.

Looking at the long lists with the standard and optional equipment, we can see the X7 had massive 22-inch alloy wheels and benefited from an off-road package as well as an M Sport differential. That’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of available kit since the lavish SUV had everything from a panoramic sunroof to a five-zone automatic climate control system. Yes, five. Other goodies worth mentioning include the rear-seat entertainment setup, night vision, head-up display, and a Harman-Kardon sound system.

The 7 Series of SUVs will undoubtedly be BMW’s most luxurious SUV ever, so it’s no wonder the amount of kit available is extensive. The driver and passengers will be cocooned in the best leather and Alcantara combo to come out of the gates of the factory in Spartanburg. That gigantic kidney grille – likely visible from the Moon – will be standard.

You will have to patiently wait to get behind the wheel of the X7 as it won’t be in the hands of customers until the end of next year. Meanwhile, the large-and-in-charge SUV will have to undergo a series of tests to make sure it’s going to live up to the BMW badge once regular production will start.

For something even more opulent from the BMW Group, 2018 will be the year when Rolls-Royce is going to come out with the "Project Cullinan.”
