Iran’s imported vehicle tariff will be increased and due to exchange rate fluctuations, the domestic car prices will increase too. It is expected that next year will be Chinese Automakers’ year but Renault can be a game changer.
Khodrocar – Renault didn’t leave Iran’s market during the sanctions and after Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), this company tried to introduce some of its new productions in partnership with Renault Pars and Pars Khodro. The vehicles like "Sandro” and "Stepway”. Althought their platform is the same with "L90”, with some changes, these two made a name for themselves in Iran’s market.

Now, two years after JCPOA, Ramtin Esmaeili, Renault Pars CEO said that Iran is the second major producer of Renault brand in the world. Although the joint venture between IDRO, Renault and Naseh Holding is not finalized yet, the French company have a winning card for Iran’s market.

Kwid: Renault’s Big Chance
By producing Kwid, Renault will have the chance to conquer a major part of market demand. Pride is going to be retired soon and there is no replacement for this car.

But Renault is coming with a winning card to Iran’s vehicle market. Although there are many criticisms about the safety of Kwid, but the car which comes to Iran will be the same Brazilian model that has just received the three stars from Euro NCAP. The base price in Brazil is 9114 dollars.

Because Renault does not intend to ignore this good market share, they want to keep the price of Kwid in the same range.

With Kwid, Renault will be able to gain half of Iran’s market share and also play an important role in Western Asia with exporting this car to the countries like Iraq .

It's not specified yet that Kwid is going to enter Iran via Renault joint venture or via Renualt Pars but considering the unknown fate of the joint venture’s production site, Renault Pars is the option for Renault.
