Iran and Italy started a cooperation as old commercial partners to produce 2 million Fiat in Iran. But the golden days of auto industry didn’t show up and it seems that the cooperation of both countries in the auto industry has met a dead end.
Khodrocar – in 2015 and during the first days after the signing of JCPOA, Italian trading groups came to Iran to sign different industrial and commercial contracts. They even made us to feel happy about producing 2 million vehicles annually in Iran.

Italians came alongside Iran after the JCPOA and they were eager to work with Iran, their oldest commercial partner. However, it has been 2 years since the signing of JCPOA and the contract between Iran and Fiat has not been finalized yet and it seems to be forgotten.

"Contracts are going to remain undecided, since different things and conditions are threatening the JCPOA and Fiat contract is one of them.” Said Ahmad Pour Fallah, chairman of Iran & Italy chamber of commerce. "The Fiat contract has not been forgotten and it has the same condition as before. We will decide about this contract as soon as the threatening situation finishes.”

Pour Falah once said to Khodrocar reporter that there are some obstacles in the way of executing Iran and Fiat contract which doesn’t relate to both sides of the contract and it needs more time to solve. These obstacles are making the way more difficult for both sides.
