Great Wall Motor Co., China's largest manufacturer of SUVs and crossovers, will participate in the Frankfurt auto show in September.
Khodrocar- Great Wall will display products under its newly created Wey premium brand at the show, the company confirmed to Automotive News China.

The company hasn’t released more details on the vehicles it will display at the show.

Wey is named after company founder and chairman Wei Jianjun. The first Wey-badged vehicle, the VV7 crossover, went on sale at the Shanghai auto show in April, with a starting price of 167,800 yuan ($25,424).

At the Shanghai show, the company also revealed a plug-in hybrid version of the VV7.

Great Wall is now testing the Wey brand’s second product, the VV5 compact crossover, in China.

Smaller in size, the VV5 features the same powertrain technologies as the VV7: a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection engine mated with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

Great Wall needs new models to counter slowing sales. In July, the company’s deliveries edged up 0.1 percent year on year to 69,063 vehicles. The number includes 6,075 Wey VV7s.

In the first seven months, the company’s sales rose 2.0 percent to 529,806 vehicles.

Great Wall, headquartered in the north China city of Baoding, is listed in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
