Stating the obvious. We are all guilty of doing it and after five decades of being utterly dependable, we’re not going to judge Toyota for the lack of originality with its Invincible 50.
Khodrocar - A Frankfurt auto show reveal to celebrate the obvious – 50 years of Hilux – this special edition bakkie is a grouping of 1980s Japanese car graphic design, and some trim bits.

Beyond the side graphics, there are darkened six-spoke 18-inch alloys (shod with BF Goodrich tires), the regulation roll bar and running board combination, new wheel arch moldings and additional under body skid plate protection for sump and transfer case.

A bakkie is not a proper ‘edition bakkie without a custom load bed and Hilux Invincible 50 features an integrated toolbox just behind the cab. Clever. Best of all? There’s nothing foolishly fancy stuff inside, merely a leather trimmed parking brake girdle. Kind of a metaphor for everything Hilux represents.
