Let's hope the new two-door Wrangler looks this good.
Khodrocar - Patience is a virtue, they say. But in the case of the upcoming Jeep Wrangler, our patience is nearly wearing thin. The upcoming off-roader has been teased, rendered, and spied heavily prior to its debut at the end of the year. The latest set of renderings preview the two-door Sport and Rubicon model – and they look handsome.

Though subtle, the exterior updates over the current generation are noticeable. The taillights gain an hourglass-shaped LED, the front grille is refreshed with an angled design, and both the front bumper fog lights and headlights feature bright white LEDs. Of course, this is still just a rendering, and we won’t know exactly what the final product looks like until its debut.

The new Jeep Wrangler is expected to make its debut later this year at the LA Auto Show, before going on sale early late in 2017 or early 2018. The two-door version pictured here could see a slight delay into mid-2018. Production of the new model will actually coincide alongside the current model for a few months before the 2017 model is discontinued entirely, with both the new Wrangler and the new Ram 1500 pickup reportedly sharing the same aluminum intensive platform.

The new Wrangler will be powered by two gas engines, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 horsepower (223 kilowatts), as well as a more powerful 3.6-liter V6, paired to either a six-speed manual or a new eight-speed automatic. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel option is also rumored, specifically on the Scrambler pickup model.

Like many Wranglers before it, thew new JL will also come with features like a three-piece removable roof, which will be available at launch, as well as some much-needed technological updates to the interior. The new Wrangler will be built at Jeep’s Toledo, Ohio production facility, which recently underwent a $700 million upgrade in preparation.
