Iran motorcycle industry is up to change the approval by council of ministers and get a ten-month deadline to produce Euro 4 Fuel Injection motorcycles, but meanwhile this ministry allowed the plating of some carburetor motorcycles.
Khodrocar – It has been two years since the ban of producing carburetor motorcycles and now some manufacturers requested the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to plat 10 thousand carburetor motorcycles.
This is while the companies trying to produce injector motorcycles with Euro 4 standards faced a new law which banned the production of even Euro 4 Fuel Injection motorcycles. From the beginning of this year, no injector motorcycle has been on sale.
Some manufacturers also wrote some letter to the Ministry and Iran’s Department of Environment to get ten-month deadline. The minister approved it but still no changes have been made.
According to the letter that addresses the First Vice-President of Iran and has been signed by Mohammad Shariatmadari and Aboreza Rahmani, Ministry of Interior, some manufacturers announced that the production of 9543 of their motorcycles have been banned and they were not able to plate them and in order to avoid social consequences, the emergence of labor problems and continuation of activity of these companies, they requested the council of ministers to review the letter.
However, it not clear that companies that produce injector motorcycles matters or the new approval for the 10 thousand new carburetor motorcycles. This two-sided decision wondered every member of Motorcycle Industry Forum.
Bahman Zia, tells Khodrocar regarding the issue: "Some producers that are not even members of the forum, requested the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Plate to plate their carburetor motorcycles which have been accumulated in their storehouse.”
He adds: "This way, we lose our chances because the motorcycles are generally sold in the first half of the year and in the second half there are no significant sales and production.”
Khodrocar – The Department of Environment is opposed to the re-numbering of carburetor engines, but it cannot stand in front of government decision. All we can do is to wait for the official decision of Government.
