Khodrocar - "Only ministry of industry, mine and trade has the correct number of automakers and our statistics are from the number of associations' member which decreased in recent years." Ahmad Nemat Bakhsh said to Khodrocar reporter.
"Today, Iran's vehicle manufacturer association has 28 members. In the recent years, the number of members reduced due to association law. Continues production for 3 years and producing at least 30 percent of the number that mentioned in license is one of the important laws of association which some companies can't obey." He added.
Nemat Bakhsh mentioned that some of the new automakers are not member in the association." Automakers integration has not happened yet. It seems, merging auto part manufacturers would be a better idea. Globally, automakers have participation with auto part manufacturers in order to produce high quality products. Also, merging small auto part manufacturer would make them more powerful in the chain of production."
"Integration of two major automakers such as Saipa and IKCO is not logical because it would vanish the competitive atmosphere. It would be beneficial to merge automakers, which have under 100 thousand vehicles production rate annually in order to have sufficient production rate." Secretary of Iran vehicle manufacturer association said. "Experts believe that the logical production rate is 100 thousand vehicles for a year and right now only Saipa an IKCO have this condition."
