Geely Galaxy teases new electric SUV

Khodrocar - On March 25, Geely Galaxy released several teaser images of its new pure electric SUV. The vehicle name and specifications have not been announced yet. The new car is expected to be unveiled at this year’s Beijing Auto Show in April and launched later this year.

In 2024, Geely Galaxy plans to focus on the mainstream market of "hybrid + pure electric” by launching three new energy vehicles, namely, a pure electric SUV, a compact pure electric SUV, and a plug-in hybrid SUV. All will be developed based on a new architecture and design language, and fall within the 100,000 – 200,000 yuan (13,870 – 27,700 USD) price range. The new pure electric SUV announced this time will be one of the new energy vehicles.

Based on the images, the new car adopts a closed front face, which is representative of an electric vehicle, paired with the brand logo and sharp headlights. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the car body is wrapped with the word "hello” in various languages.

From the side, the new car adopts a hidden door handle design coupled with star-shaped rims and chrome-strip-decorated windows. The powertrain configuration has not yet been announced at this time.

Based on the naming convention of Geely Galaxy’s models in which L stands for "intelligent plug-in hybrid series”, E stands for "intelligent pure electric series”, even numbers are used to represent sedans, and odd numbers are used to represent SUVs, this new pure electric SUV might be named E7. Additionally, one of the earlier product plannings indicated that the E7 pure electric SUV will be launched in Q2 of this year.

Galaxy was established in February 2023 as a new energy vehicle brand under Geely. Now, it is an independent brand with its own logo, website, and dealerships. So far, the brand launched the Galaxy L7, Galaxy L6, and Galaxy E8, as well as 650 Geely Galaxy stores. A total of 83,497 vehicles were sold by the end of 2023.
