Xpeng has three SUVs in China – the entry-level G3, the Model Y competitor G6, and the flagship G9. The dimensions are 4891/1937/1670 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,998 mm.
Khodrocar - Xpeng entered Germany today, its fifth European market, following Norway, Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. The Guangzhou-based EV maker left its entry-level cars in China and introduced two upper models: the Xpeng G9 flagship SUV and the Xpeng P7 sedan. Sales and test drives will start in May.

Xpeng will use the traditional dealership model, selling its vehicles through authorized third parties. 12 independent dealers will initially offer the G9 and P7 at 24 locations. "By the end of the year, there should be twice as many, and by 2026, there will be around 60 dealers with 120 locations,” says Markus Schrick, director of Xpeng Germany.

Xpeng G9 will be offered in 3 versions in Germany:

RWD Standard Range – 57,600 EUR
78.2 kWh battery, single 230 kW motor
RWD Long Range – 62,300 EUR
98 kWh battery, single 230 kW motor
AWD Long Range – 69,600 EUR
98 kWh battery, dual motors with 405 kW power, 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds
Xpeng G9 launched in China in September 2022, starting at 309,900 yuan (42,900 USD). The annual update was launched a year later, in September 2023. Due to the price war, the starting price was reduced to 263,900 yuan (36,500 USD), which was later reduced to 253,900 yuan, for which you can buy the car in 2024.

The Chinese EV startup plans to expand into Europe and enter France, Italy, and the UK. The official Xpeng France website has already launched, but the Italian and UK websites have not yet. According to previous XPeng claims based on its "Go Abroad 2.0” strategy, the UK market entry should happen this year.

Germany is the most important European market, and Xpeng knows it. At IAA Mobility in Munich last year, Brian Gu, vice chairman of the company, stated, "Our success in Germany will determine our success in continental Europe.”

In early March, Xpeng announced its plans to launch its first right-hand drive model in Hong Kong this year. This claim was followed by reports that Xpeng will launch in key right-hand drive markets in Australia and Singapore in the year’s second half. Moreover, in February, Xpeng announced market entry into 5 Middle Eastern markets.

In July 2023, Volkswagen invested 700 million USD to acquire nearly 5% of Xpeng. Later, it was revealed that Volkswagen would use Xpeng’s Edward Platform, which underpins the 2022 G9 SUV, to develop two new EVs in China. The targeted launch date for these models is 2026.

Xpeng sold 141,601 EVs in 2023 and aims to double it to 280,000 units in 2024.
