Iran’s customs established a new instruction last week, which bans the selling of abandoned over 2500cc cars and make them return.
Khodrocar – One day after the establishment of customs new instruction, the draft of the car import instruction published by Khodrocar. According to the new instruction the ban for importing over 2500 cc cars which are addressed as luxury will vanish.
The government new instruction is not signed yet because of absence of the president at the last cabinet meeting, but this instruction is finalized and importing of over 2500cc cars will be free soon.
In the September of 2014, the ministry of industry, mining and trade put the engine’s capacity as the index of the luxury cars duo to pressure from the parliament. This decision was criticized a lot by the importers and auto industry experts.
The importers’ protest didn’t change anything even though the chairman of Trade Promotion organization at the time, said the index for luxury cars should be the price instead of engine’s displacement.
At last, Iran’s customs ban the selling of abandoned cars through an instruction, but duo to the new instruction from ministry, it is not clear that what will happen to the customs's instruction. Finally, the decision of the ministry of industry, mining and trade is a sign of the maturity because they find out that luxury cars need better definition.
